L.A.B
Bio
L.A.B’s groove blends an eclectic mix of reggae, electronic, blues, funk and rock - all combining to create a sound entirely their own. L.A.B made their name on the live stages of Australasia and were recently publicly-voted as Radio New Zealand’s Best Live Act.
L.A.B have become a mainstay in the NZ Music Charts and on the festival circuit, performing at every major festival across NZ, plus marquee slots at the Byron Bay Bluesfest & WOMADelaide. A summer run of sold-out stadium and greenfield shows from January to April 2022 saw them perform to over 70,000 people in Australia & New Zealand and take out fourth spot in Pollstar's top Australasian acts for 2021/2022.
2021 saw L.A.B win Best Group, Best Album and Best Single at the New Zealand Music Awards, named as the most-played NZ act on NZ radio, and hold the top-three most streamed NZ songs on Spotify.
After releasing five albums in five years, the band have cemented themselves on the NZ charts, with ‘In The Air’ and ‘Why Oh Why’ both reaching Number One and remaining in the charts for over three years. Their accomplishments include all five albums reaching platinum status, alongside 10 platinum singles & 13 gold singles. The biggest of these include ‘Why Oh Why’ (three-times-Platinum), ‘Controller’ (six-times-Platinum) & ‘In The Air’ (eight-times-Platinum in NZ and Gold in Australia).
L.A.B continue to assert themselves as one of NZ’s hardest-working acts, with no signs of slowing down. The band is working on their sixth studio album and December 2022 through to April 2023 will see L.A.B play a string of greenfield and stadium shows across New Zealand and Australia plus their first foray into the USA.
