Michael Weintrob’s INSTRUMENTHEAD
Bio
Michael Weintrob has been capturing musicians for over 25 years,both on stage and behind the scenes. His work has appeared in major publications like Rolling Stone, Downbeat, JazzTimes, and NPR, and he has served as the house photographer for iconic venues such as Red Rocks and festivals like Newport Jazz andFolk. With thousands of artists photographed, Weintrob skillfully tells their stories through his lens and through immersive traveling art exhibits. His work has been exhibited internationally and supported by the U.S. State Department. In 2017, he won the IPPY award for outstanding design for his fine-artbookINSTRUMENTHEAD, followed by a bronze medal for INSTRUMENTHEAD Revealed. During the 2020 pandemic, he launched the INSTRUMENTHEAD LIVE streaming concert series to support out-of-work musicians. Now based in Nashville, Weintrob continues to pursue his passion for music photography and runs his publishing company, Magnet Bound Press.
