GOERIE | Port Farms concert series lifts off near Waterford with The Wild Feathers
Those full-flowing voices give The Wild Feathers wings.
Soaring, soulful three-part harmonies weave through the nationally known Nashville band's seamless blend of Southern rock, Americana roots and heartland pop.
It's a sound to behold Saturday, when The Wild Feathers launch the summer concert season at Port Farms, near Waterford.
A night later, The Wild Feathers headline Crafthouse Stage & Grill in Pittsburgh's South Hills.
Mixing a healthy dose of originals with a handful of covers, each show's setlist will be different, promises the man who creates them, Wild Feathers bassist-vocalist Joel King.
"It all depends on the vibe of the place," King said. "If the crowd is really engaged, we might pull out (Bob Dylan's) 'I Shall be Released.' Or if looks like they need a kick in the (rear-end) we might play 'Jumpin' Jack Flash.' We'll win them over. If it looks like we're playing our normal crowd we might do a deep cut because we know they can handle it."
