JAMBASE | Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer Performs National Anthem At The Preakness

Guitarist Brandon “Taz” Niederauer performed The National Anthem at The Preakness on Saturday. Taz delivered the “Star-Spangled Banner” at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore for The Preakness Stakes, the second jewel of the Triple Crown thoroughbred horse race series.

Niederauer’s talent has been in demand for National Anthem performances of late. Earlier this year, Taz reeled off a fiery rendition of The National Anthem at the AFC championship game between the Kansas City Cheifs and the Buffalo Bills. In 2018 and ‘19, Brandon delivered “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the home of the Chicago Cubs, the storied Wrigley Field. Taz’s version naturally takes cues from Jimi Hendrix’s legendary performance of the song at Woodstock, but the gifted young guitarist always put his own spin on the composition, as he did at The Preakness.
